Military Record: Enrolled at Montgomery, Orange County, New York on 14 August 1862 and was mustered in at Goshen, Orange County, New York on 5 September 1862 as a Private in Company "H", 124th New York Infantry. Was wounded in the right thigh at the Battle of Chancellorsville on 3 May 1863 and wounded again by a shell fragment on 14 June 1863. On the night of 18 September 1863 while sleeping after completing picket duty was rolled over by a supply wagon and suffered a broken collarbone and a separated shoulder. Transferred to Company "F", 9th Veteran Reserve Corps on 1 February 1865 and was discharged at Washington, D.C. on 26 June 1865.
Pension Record: U.S. Pension File # 208,933 (Certificate # 163075) for Grandason Judson. U.S. Pension File # 894,987 (Certificate # 663091) for Laura Jane Judson (Widow). Copies of both Pension files in researchers possession.
According to the 1900 Federal Census of the U.S., Grandason and Laura had seven children. Four are listed herein.
