Lucille Alford Williams, 80, passed away at her residence, March 15, 1997. Lucille was born, raised and was a lifelong residence of Magnolia. She attended Sam Houston State University and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Lucille was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Magnolia.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roman B. Williams in 1995. She is survived by her loving family; nephew Wayne Yancey and his wife Connie, niece Gaye Yancey and numerous other relatives.... Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Magnolia.... Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Satterwhite, Bobby Yancey, Jim Hufnall, Marvin Dorris, Bo Rickett, and Louis Turner....

AAFA NOTES: Her name was really Annie Lucille Alford. She was born 3 June 1917 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Harrison “Harry” W. Alford and Lydia R. Thomas. She was of the William 1808 SC branch of the family.
