Shared note	from Nick Wallingford, 3 July 2009: At some point when I was young, probably in the early/middle 1960s, they built a new small house in the field immediately west of Uncle Bob and Aunt Ruth's house outside Hempstead for Gertrude. There was a thunderstorm and a 'lightning ball' came into the house and destroyed just about all of the electrical appliances.
