Sallie Moore worked as a stenographer in San Antonio. When her sister Valma became ill with tuberculosis, Sallie had Valma come to San Antonio to live with and be cared for by Sallie in a more healthful climate. Nevertheless, the disease progressed and Valma died in September 1913 at the age of 20. Sallie also contracted the disease and died in December 1913 at the age of 32. Sallie and Valma are buried side-by-side in the Fields Store Cemetery. What great, self-sacrificing love Sallie had for her sister!
