There passed away at Wellington on Christmas Day an old resident in the person of Mr. Oscar Maplesden. Mr. Maplesden came out to New Zealand about 38 years ago, and had, with the exception of a few years, resided all that time in this city. He was a member of the family of Maplesdens, of the Maplesden Manor, now Maidstone Museum, Kent, England, and is survived by a widow and seven children, the sons being Archibald, Horace, Vincent, and Hector, and the daughters Misses Madge and Lottie, and Mre. Jack McIlvride, Melling, Lower Hutt.
