JEFF CHASTAIN, born Nov. 2, 1926 in Little Rock, Arkansas died March 15, 2004 in Houston at the age of 77. He was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, and a member of the Aldine Lodge #1412 A.F. & A.M. Jeff was retired from Hughes Tool Co. after 44 1/2 years of service. He was a veteran of W.W. II having served with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Neva Chastain; daughters, Linda Smith and husband Jerry, Gay Brownlee and husband Bob; granddaughters, Kelly Smith and her fiance George McMahan, and Blaire Brownlee; one sister, Margaret Batchelor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jeff was best known for his love of family, friends and laughter. He was a devoted Christian who attended Memorial Baptist Church for many years. He will always be remembered for his interest in sports, as well as hunting and fishing. His great personality and ongoing witty humor will remain in our hearts forever. You are loved, Jeff, and we thank you for all the joy you have given us. God Bless you forever. Jeff's family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital for the care and attention that they gave him during his illness. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, Woodlawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 18, 2004, in the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Cliff Mayton and Pastor Jim Godwin officiating. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories. Jim Dacus, Lloyd Nicholson, Vince Zajicek, Truman Culbreth, Loney McVey and Allen Bradshaw to serve as pallbears. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Memorial Baptist Church Stewardship Class and its teacher, Jim Stephenson. For those desiring the family suggests a donation to the American Heart Assoc. or the Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund in Jeff's memory. |
