Located on Leverkuhn property in the northeast corner of the county.

This cemetery is located on private property about 1/2 mile east of Hegar Rd., near Hockley, TX in northeast Waller County. The cemetery is surrounded by a cyclone fence in a cattle pasture. From Houston take Hwy 290 west to Hegar Rd. in Hockley and turn right. The long dirt drive is about 1/4 mile and there are several locked gates to cross.

This cemetery was originally located on Leverkuhn land in the north east end of Waller County, and it contained one acre of land.

The first burial here was Mrs. Kuhne, date unknown. The second burial was Selma Kuhne Leverkuhn, first wife of Mr. Leverkuhn, date December 1873.

In the year 1968, the Leverkuhn established an endowment fund for the upkeep of this cemetery with a gift of $100.00 from Selma Leverkuhn Davis and is added to yearly at the Reunions of the Clan.

(July 22, 1842 -- November 11, 1915) German-born Heinrich Leverkuhn cane to Texas in 1857 and was a foragemaster for the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He ran a store in Hockley after the war. In 1878 he became a farmer-rancher in "Foresouth Prairie", now Macedonia Community. He had a cotton gin, syrup mill, and blacksmith shop. Leverkuhn helped found Macedonia Methodist Church and McPherson School. He married Selma Kuhn (d. 1876) and Martha Rebecca Davis (1855-1906) and had fourteen children.
