Her obituary was published in the Oregonian on 15 Dec 2007 in OR. Elvira M. Fort A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Brookwood Baptist Church in Hillsboro for Elvira M. "Sandy" Fort, who died Dec. 11 at age 87. Elvira M. Sanford was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Livingston, Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston Teachers College and was a third-grade teacher for 18 years in Texas before moving in 1972 to Portland and in 1976 to Cornelius. She was a susbstitute teacher for the Portland and Forest Grove school districts and for Visitation School in Verboort, and retired after 10 years as a courier for Tuality Community Hospital. In 1945, she married Pastor Earl L. Fort. Survivors include her husband; sons, David, Daniel and James; and five grandchildren.
