NANCY NAGEL CARTER, 83, went to be with our Lord on July 25, 2002. She was born September 8, 1918 to Bruno and Artie Nagel. She was a lifelong resident of Houston, Texas. She graduated from Reagan High School and Rice University. Throughout her life, she enjoyed music, gourmet cooking and bridge. She was a subscriber of the Houston Symphony and Houston Grand Opera for many years. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leland S. Carter; daughter, Nancy Jill Carter; daughter-in-law, Crystal Carter, and brother, Jack Nagel. She is survived by her son, Jack Carter of Woodstock, Georgia; grandsons, Bradley and Travis Carter; cousins Kathy Hatchett and husband, Terry. Other cousins include Janet Kepner and husband, James, of Houston, who have helped her for many years; Joyce Serant, of Houston; L. D. Nagel of Corpus Christi; and Lucy Somers of Houston, as well as a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Monday, July 29, 2002 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, with The Reverend Richard H. Elwood officiating. A reception will follow in the Bagby Parish Hall.
