from http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pineisland/hisaf.htm Alfred Crowhurst with his wife and children and his mother emigrated from Dartford England to Brenham, Texas in 1874. With him was his mother, Annie Weller Crowhurst, his wife Eliza and their children, Elizabeth, John, Sam and James They originally settled in Washington County but moved to Waller County after a few years. Most of the family are buried in Shiloh Cemetery, but only Sam and James lived in Pine Island. The Waller County courthouse records show that A. Crowhurst bought 154 acres from Francis Pennington on January 8, 1908. |
