Jesse Floyd Zimmerman, age 95, died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, in Santa Fe at the Casa Real Health Center after a brief illness. Floyd was a resident at Aspen Ridge Lodge in Los Alamos for two years and a resident of Santa Fe, Los Alamos and Arroyo Seco for more than 60 years. Floyd was retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory where he was employed as a civil engineer for more than 30 years. He also served as county surveyor for Los Alamos County.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Helen Zimmerman; five brothers; four sisters; beloved wife Mildred Cloe Zimmerman; a granddaughter, Caryl Wright; and son-in-law, Fred Bowling.Survivors include three children: Kathryn A. Bowling of Arroyo Seco, Robert L. Zimmerman and his wife Elizabeth Wiseman of Santa Fe and Allen Ray Zimmerman and his wife Kathi of Ft. Collins, Colo; nieces, Edna and husband Early Barton of San Angelo, Texas, and Beverly and husband Dan Johnson of Getting, Texas; six grandchildren: Cheryl K. and her husband Casper Baca of Grants, Cara L. and her husband Orlando Cordova of Westminster, Colo., Jason L. Zimmerman and his wife Kimberly of Amarillo, Texas, Ryan Zimmerman and his wife Emily of Houston, Texas, Alicia Zimmerman and Troy Zimmerman of Ft. Collins, Colorado; seven great grandchildren, including one due in May of 2008: Christy and husband Daniel Muller of Belen, Charm Baca of Belen and C.J. Baca and wife Ashley of Rio Rancho, Brooke O. Zimmerman of Houston, Texas, Kayleena M. Zimmerman of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Austin L. Zimmerman of Amarillo, Texas; four great great-grandchildren: Zariah Muller and Malyka Muller of Belen, Brody Baca of Belen, and Estevan Chavez of Belen |
