Mary Roberts was born say 1732. Molly died by about 1762 when her second husband Job remarried, probably in Somersworth, New Hampshire. She married twice. She married first, Hatevil Roberts, in early 1749.(705) Mary and Hatevil had two children.(706) She married second, Job Clements, about 1753, probably in Dover, New Hampshire.(708) Job and Mary had two children.(709) Job was born probably about 1717, probably in Dover, New Hampshire.(710) Job was the son of James Clements and Sarah Wallingford. Job died before December 1810, probably in Dover, New Hampshire.(711) Administration on the estate of Job Clements of Dover was granted 1 December 1810.(712) He doesn't appear in the 1810 census. Both Job and Mary had a mother named Sarah Wallingford. Job's mother was granddaughter of the emigrant Nicholas and Mary's mother was great-granddaughter of the emigrant, so Job and Molly were second cousins once removed through the Wallingford line. Job began his life in the part of Dover which became Somersworth in 1754, and lived there until about 1772 when he removed to Rochester. He is listed in the 1790 census of both Rochester and Somersworth, perhaps because his farm straddled the border. In that census he is listed as living with two females. He was listed in Somersworth in 1800 with a male and female above 45 years and a female aged 26-45. At some point during the next ten years he moved back to Dover. He enlisted in Capt. John Tasker's County, 31 July 1755, for the Expedition against Crown Point. Much more is written about him in the Clements genealogy.(713) Secondary sources often either neglect to mention Mary as a child of Joshua and Sarah Roberts or put her last in the family. She was actually their first child. Her parentage is proven by the will of her father Joshua Roberts who names his grandchildren Samuel and Olive Roberts, children of his deceased daughter Molly Roberts.(714)
