After his capture at Nashville, TN with the 23rd Alabama on 16 Dec 1864, John J. McConnell was taken to Louisville, Kentucky and then to Johnson's Island prisoner of war camp near Sandusky, Ohio. He was released on oath of allegiance on 22 May 1865 at the war's end. |
