In January 1885 Eliza Wallingford Jones (who would have been Francina's first cousin) wrote a letter to her uncle Thomas Ginn Wallingford, and described a wedding: "his daughter married since you was here she married George Beckel-Danelsone I dont now much about him her mother was not smiling for the mart etc" The wedding would have been between September 1884 (when T.G. was in Kentucky, and married Annie) and January 1885, when the letter was written. I have some confidence that the wedding was for Francina (both Parthenia and Jerinda were already married at this stage, and Martha had died several years earlier) and George W. Becket. George W. Becket was the son of Daniel and Lucy R. Becket, with supporting census entries for 1860 and 1880. In an 1887 map, it appears the 1880 entry (for George's brother John) was to the southwest of Mt.Carmel, almost due south of Mt. Giliad (the 1887 map refers to Mrs. S. Becket, but the neighbors are those of the 1880 census). |
