THE LAMPASAS LEADER JULY 26, 1907 Married At the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hoffmann, Tuesday morning at 11:30 o'clock, Prof. C.M. Bethany and Miss Rose Hoffmann, Rev. T.F. Sessions officiating. The wedding was a surprise to the many friends of Miss Rose, and even her brother was not notified of the even until Monday night when he went home from his business. Only a few intimate friends were present, Miss Rose having filled her place at the store in the morning before the wedding as though there was nothing more than the ordinary duties of life to be done, though she had announced her intention of going home to Burton in the afternoon. Prof. Bethany has been principal of the Hempstead city schools for several years, and has just been elected superintendent of the McDade schools for the ensuing year. He is a young man of fine character, thoroughly educated and of good morals and gentle manners, while Miss Rose is one of nature's noble and accomplished young women, always ready to do what is right and one who has made friends of all the people, young and old, in Lampasas. They left in the afternoon over the Central for Hempstead. The Leader heartily joins their many friends in wishing them every joy, happiness and success in this life. |
