from New Zealand Free Lance, Volume V, Issue 241, 11 February 1905, Page 3

Miss Florence Prouse, the eldest daughter of baritone John Prouse, now and for some time past a resident of London, recently arrived from Home, to keep the local home together while sister Connie and brother George (of hockey fame) taste the delights of sunless London in the keeping of their talented father. Miss Piouse, who left New Zealand (with her parents) as pianist to Madame Antonio Dolores, the most charming of soprano vocalists, has taken up another engagement, which will entail a lot of orange blossoms, rice, old shoes, and cake. To make an interesting story sweet, she is engaged to be married to a Mr Davies, consular agent for Great Britain at Buenos Ayres - the Paiss of the South.

Mr. Davies is a brother of Miss Gwen Davies, a talented singer and entertainer, who visited Wellington some years ago, and stayed with the Prouses. There is still no whisper of Mr. Prouse returning to Wellington, and, if tlhe reports of returning trippers are correct, there is little inducement for him to do so, so popular a vocalist has he become in the foggy metropolis.
