Billy James Kloecker Billy James Kloecker was born on January 21, 1944 in Hempstead, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Waller County. Billy joined the Hempstead FFA in high school and showed steers in the livestock show. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 1962. In the early 1970s he was trail boss for the Waller County Fair trail ride and rode in parades. Billy continued to be involved with the WaiJer County Fair after he and his wife, Kay, had children. As soon as his girls were old enough to become involved with 4-H, he became an adult leader with the Rock Island 4-H Club. He helped with goat projects and served on the Market Goat Committee for years. He helped his daughters raise hogs for the swine show. He transported scales an over the county for fair kids to weigh their hogs in preparation for the show. One of Billy's favorite past times was watching his children show at the Waller County Fair. He helped with Fair workdays and worked extra to help improve the fair grounds. He provided trailers to be decorated as floats for parades. Billy had a hand in just about every activity that his daughters participated in, from sampling dishes for the 4-H food shows to driving all over Texas for goat shows. Billy continued to farm throughout his life and entered his hay in the hay show at the fair. Billy was always looking for a new endeavor to get involved in and always willing to help others. He was proud to participate in the Waller County Fair and proud to help enrich the lives of Waller County youth. |
