Shared note

"Uncle Bob" owned a country store near Bellville, Texas.

The store was added onto from its original small size, and many years later was moved further up the highway. It was still looking much the same as late as 2004, though painted differently.

As children Bob would always give Carl and Nick Wallingford bags of candies when they were leaving to go back to Houston.

On 4 July and New Years, they were given near unlimited amounts of fireworks.

Nick Wallingford remembers being paid 25 cents a day to kill all the flies in the store during the summer when visiting for extended periods of time.

There were china berry trees behind the house and store area.

John R Wallingford planted an oak tree in the front yard, with the acorn coming from the old homestead at Fields Store.
