John C. Watkins Formerly Resided in Jackson Township - Body Held For Instructions.

Frank E. Evans, two miles west of Greensburg and E.E. Hite, each received telegrams this morning from an undertaker at Forrest City, Ark., stating that John C Watkins, 69, died there last night and asking what should be done with the body.. The deceased was born in Fleming County, Ky., in March, 1858 and came with his widowed mother, who was a daughter of Hiram Wallingford to this city about 60 years ago. His brother, Edward died about twenty years ago and his sister, Mrs. Ina White, died in this city several years ago. Two half brothers, Frank E. Evans, here and Lora Evans, of Oklahoma survive.. Mr. Watkins married Laura Hamilton, of Alert, about 45 years ago but they have been legally separated for several years. A daughter, Mrs. Nellie Jordan and her mother live in California. He has been a wanderer and lived in the West a great deal of the time returning here at intervals. During the flood in April he wrote here soliciting and for the flood sufferers.. The body will be buried at Forrest City which has been his home for some time..
