T.G. Wallingford wrote to Hiram Wallingford that Ed's time in the penitentary was due to end in on 1 October 1883. Hiram said he was in Decatur, Indiana, about that time "well dressed and plenty of money". He went on to say he was wanting to marry a local widow from his mother's neighborhood, who is "of good character and industrious". She was only waiting for a divorce as her husband had left her more than two years previously, and for no cause on her part. |
