Funeral services for Hattie Mae Heflin Thompson, 96, were held at Plantersville Baptist Church on April 1. Rev. Michael Williams officiated, and interment was in Plantersville Cemetery. A visitation was held at Nobles Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until the service.nServices were under the direction of Nobles Funeral Chapel.
Thompson died on March 30, 2004, at her home in Plantersville. She was born in Waller County on May 6, 1907, to George Jackson Heflin and Ava Virginia Vanhowten Heflin.

She was a devoted wife and mother and a long-time active member of Plantersville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by her spouse, Charlie Thompson, by a son, Lester "Buddy" Thompson, by a son-in-law Marvin "Shorty" Kersh, by a great-grandson, Woody Davis, by four brothers, George, Tom, Mickle and Leroy Heflin and two sisters, Mattie Heflin and Susie Heflin Wallingford.

She is survived by a daughter Vivian Thompson Kersh of Woodlake; by a daughter and son-in-law Dorothy Thompson Tullos and Dave Tullos of Plantersville; by a daughter-in-law Emma Thompson of Danbury, by eight grandchildren and 23 great-grandchilden.
