Burial will be at West Boone Prairie Cemetery near Franklin. Visitation will be from noon to the time of services Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of McCauley Funeral Home in Franklin. Mr. Wallingford died Saturday in Bryan. He served in the military during the Korean War and was employed 40 years in the livestock business weighing cattle and working in auction sales. Survivors include his wife, Addie Lou Wallingford of Franklin; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy and Debbie Wallingford and Rob Wallingford, all of Franklin; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Toni Wallingford of Houston; a sister-in-law, Francis Armstrong of Clute; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. |

RALPH E. WALLINGFORD, age 78, passed away Tuesday, the 5th of January 2010. He was born the 31st of August 1931, in Hempstead, Texas, the son of Marvin C. Wallingford and Edythe Eckel Wallingford. Ralph graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Texas and Texas A&M College, class of 1953. He proudly served in the United States Army four years as an airborne infantry officer in the United States and Japan. A Certified Public Accountant, Ralph spent his career in public accounting in Houston. He was a founder of Wallingford, McDonald, Fox & Co., P.C., serving as managing shareholder until his retirement. He served as President of the Houston Chapter, Texas Society of CPA's; a member of the Board of Directors of the Texas Society of CPAs; and as a member of Council, American Institute of CPA's. Ralph also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation. A loyal Aggie, Ralph served on the Planned Giving Council of the Texas A&M Foundation, was a member of the Twelfth Man Foundation and the Association of Former Students. He and his wife, Toni, endowed a scholarship for a worthy and deserving member of the Corp of Cadets attending Texas A&M University at College Station. A member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, he previously served as Treasurer and a member of the vestry at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church and St. Thomas Episcopal Church. His survivors include his wife, Toni Epps Wallingford; daughter, Karen Wallingford; granddaughter, Lauren Gebbie, of Spring; brother-in-law, Michael F. Epps and wife, Mary, of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Addie Lou Wallingford of Franklin; nieces, Stephanie Epps of Southwest City, Missouri and Julie O'Neal of Lubbock; nephews, Billy Wallingford and Rob Wallingford of Franklin. Ralph is also survived by his beloved Weimaraner, Duke. Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Beauregard Wallingford; his brother, Marvin C. Wallingford, Jr.; his parents and stepmother, Lucy Crowhurt Wallingford. A memorial service is to be conducted at two o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 11th of January, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held in the adjacent Bagby Parish Hall. An inurnment is to be conducted at a later date at Fairview Cemetery of Vinita, Oklahoma.
